About The Position

The Delta St. John's Hotel is a 403 room fast paced, high volume conference hotel. We strive to foster a strong service culture and team environment so that the needs of our guests and associates are met in equal measure. We are seeking a qualified Restaurant Server This is a CASUAL permanent position. This position involves evenings & weekends at this time and preference will be given to candidates with experience. A Valid Open Work permit is required. POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Selling and serving of food and beverage to guests; Accountable for balancing daily sales and complying with established cash handling procedures; Ensuring stock is adequately maintained (linen, cutlery, condiments etc.) To maintain sanitation and hotel standards in outlet; Other side duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: Food Allergy training an asset; Minimum of Grade XII or equivalent required; Previous experience in similar environment required; Responsible Alcohol Service Course required  Knowledge of all types of beer, liquor and wines required; Knowledge of Marriott Service Standards as they relate to the Restaurant an asset; Basic accounting and computer skills required; Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with ease; Must possess strong up selling and suggestive selling skills; Must be detail orientated; Knowledge of Micros Point of Sale an asset Heavy lifting & moving of food trays, tables, chairs required. Positive, enthusiastic, outgoing personality a definite must; Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication/telephone skills required; Must be a responsible, organized individual who can work with minimum supervision; Must be honest, reliable and dependable; Must be in good health and practice good hygiene; Must be accustomed to walking and standing for extended periods; Must demonstrate behaviour consistent with core values; Must be a team orientated individual with good interactive skills. Requirements
