About The Position
The Sheraton Hotel of Eatontown is seeking candidates for the position of Restaurant Server to join our award-winning team. The Sheraton Hotel of Eatontown is part of the Hotels Unlimited family of hotels. We are a New Jersey based, family-owned company established in 1979, committed to growth through excellence. The role of Restaurant Server is responsible for the orders and service to our guests. The Restaurant Server’s duties include providing excellent customer service, making menu item recommendations, ensuring all orders are filled quickly and accurately. The Restaurant Server is also responsible for reconciling the restaurant reports at the end of their shift.
Requirements
- Pervious restaurant experience preferred
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Experience with Digital Dining, Micros, or similar POS system
- Customer service orientation with strong attention to detail
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift at least 20lbs
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Responsibilities
- providing excellent customer service
- Obtaining guests orders and entering in POS system
- Have knowledge of the food and beverage menus
- Confirm that each person consuming alcoholic beverages meet the minimum age requirement
- Process payment from guest
- Converse with guest to ensure satisfaction or problem solve
- Communicate any food allergy or special accommodations needs to kitchen staff
- Ensure cleanliness and company standards are met
- Handle customer complaints or issues in a professional manner
- Responsible for side work such as refilling condiments, refill napkins, cleaning bathrooms, rolling silverware, sweeping floors, refilling receipt paper on POS system, any other tasks as assigned
