About The Position

The DoubleTree by Hilton Miami Convention Center is seeking an experienced server to join their team. This position is 100% on-site and pays $10.98 per hour plus tips. The hotel is conveniently located near Miami International Airport and features numerous amenities including guestrooms, dining, a fitness room, outdoor pool, business center, and extensive meeting and event spaces. This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager. The server is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and friendly service to guests.

Requirements

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
Have some knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor and common drink recipes.
Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
Work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Nice To Haves

Fluency in a second language, preferably Spanish.

Responsibilities

Take beverage orders from guests and servers.
Learn the names of and personally recognize regular guests.
Record food orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.
Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change.
Wash and sterilize glassware.
Maintain the restaurant in a functional manner.
Clear and reset tables in the restaurant area.
Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the restaurant, including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
Receive and serve food orders to guests seated in the restaurant.
Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues to the restaurant manager.
Assist with the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
