About The Position

Hotel Thaynes, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, is seeking a Restaurant Server/Bartender to join their team. This role is responsible for providing professional, attentive, and knowledgeable beverage service while creating a welcoming bar environment. The ideal candidate will maintain a positive and accommodating attitude, stay informed about all beverage offerings, practice responsible alcohol service, and ensure the bar is organized and stocked. This position also involves serving guests, describing menu items, up-selling specials, and assisting with table maintenance and guest seating when needed. Adherence to company policies, safety standards, and grooming standards is essential.

Requirements

  • Professional, attentive, and knowledgeable beverage service.
  • Knowledge of all beverage offerings, including cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, daily specials, and current promotions.
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to maintain an organized, clean, and properly stocked bar.
  • Proficiency in performing pre- and post-shift side work.
  • Ability to describe menu items, preparation methods, and prices.
  • Skill in up-selling menu items or specials.
  • Ability to serve guests promptly and courteously according to service standards.
  • Capability to receive and relay customer feedback to management.
  • Willingness to assist with clearing and resetting tables.
  • Willingness to assist with greeting and seating guests.
  • Professional appearance and adherence to uniform and grooming standards.
  • Adherence to all company policies, procedures, safety standards, sanitation requirements, alcohol regulations, and service guidelines.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, welcoming, and accommodating attitude while interacting with guests.
  • Provide professional, attentive, and knowledgeable beverage service while creating a welcoming bar environment.
  • Remain informed of all beverage offerings, including cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, non-alcoholic beverages, daily specials, and current promotions.
  • Practice responsible alcohol service and follow all applicable company policies, procedures, and Utah alcohol service regulations.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and properly stocked bar throughout the shift.
  • Perform all required pre- and post-shift side work.
  • Becomes informed of kitchen/food shortages and relays the shortages to guests when necessary.
  • Describes all menu items; methods of preparation and prices as needed and/or requested by customers.
  • Up-sells established menu items or specials.
  • Serve guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards.
  • Receives direct and indirect customer feedback regarding their dining experience and relays feedback to proper management.
  • Assist with clearing table and resetting tables when support staff is not present.
  • Assist with greeting and seating guests when needed and appropriate.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to established uniform and grooming standards at all times.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, safety standards, sanitation requirements, alcohol regulations, and service guidelines.
