About The Position

On December 7th, 1982, the doors to the very first Ruby's Diner opened at the end of the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA. What once was an old bait shop had been transformed into a sparkling diner with authentic antique decor, jiving tunes from a past time, and friendly service -- Ruby's Diner was seemingly straight from the 1940's. The tiny 45-seat restaurant, which was named after its founder's mother, Ruby, opened with just three employees and a simple menu of hamburgers, hot dogs, and malts. In its first day, it brought in a whopping $63, but most importantly, smiling guests looking to remember a simpler, happier time. Now, over 35 years later, over 30 Ruby's Diner restaurants can be found in all different parts of the country such as California, Nevada, Texas, and Pennsylvania. We are proud to continue our legacy of providing guests with quality service, delicious cuisine, and what we like to call Ruby Magic. Requirements

Has strong knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in a restaurant.
Must have ability to accurately handle money, make change, process credit card transactions, and have strong menu knowledge.
Outstanding leadership and communication skills.
Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must be able to stand for extended periods.
Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
U.S. Citizenship/Permanent Resident is required for most positions.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of Restaurant Management experience preferred.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure company policy and Brand Equity Standards are followed.
Optimize profits by controlling food, beverage, and labor costs.
Hiring, training, and developing new team members.
Increasing sales by ensuring guest satisfaction in every dining experience.
Maintain an overall management style in accordance with our established best practices.
Provide leadership and direction to all team members to ensure efficient operation.
Ensure food quality and availability.
Conduct conflict resolution procedures and team member reviews.
Oversee and supervise all beverage transactions.
Complete all tasks assigned by General Manager on time.
Assist the General Manager and complete assigned tasks.
