THE OPTIMIST RESTAURANT MANAGER – UP TO $70K/yr. + BONUS (Germantown)
About The Position
The Optimist, located in Nashville's Germantown neighborhood, offers a menu of casual, wood-fired fare with a focus on fresh, sustainably sourced seafood. The Restaurant Manager will assist in directing the service team and overseeing the complete restaurant operation. This role involves leading with a positive and approachable demeanor, actively participating in menu changes, and managing hiring, training, and supervision of all staff. The manager will address issues proactively, maintain daily communication logs, and monitor labor, scheduling, and overtime to maximize productivity and profit. A minimum of 3 years of progressive restaurant experience is preferred, with at least one year in a supervisory or management role.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Assist in directing the team and monitoring the complete restaurant operation on a shift basis.
- Lead in an open, positive, and approachable manner.
- Actively participate in the menu change process.
- Hire, train, and supervise all staff.
- Address potential issues quickly, appropriately, and proactively.
- Maintain the daily log for communication between restaurant staff and management.
- Aggressively monitor labor, scheduling, and overtime to ensure maximum productivity and profit.
