About The Position

The Restaurant Host is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a positive dining experience. This role involves maintaining dining room standards, communicating with staff and management, and performing various operational duties to support the restaurant's smooth functioning.

Requirements

Knowledge of restaurant operations, including staffing levels, service equipment, and guest relations.
Ability to read and comprehend English for guest requests, memos, reservations, etc.
Ability to speak English sufficiently to conduct employee meetings.
Ability to remember, recite, and promote menu items.
Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Six months to one year previous restaurant greeter experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Meet and greet guests, offer seating choices, escort them to tables, and present menus.
Maintain and update the log book for inter-shift communication.
Ensure proper dining room set-up and enforce uniform/grooming standards for service personnel.
Assign stations to service staff.
Conduct daily roll call meetings to inform staff about promotions, specials, guest comments, and memos.
Receive, record, and arrange reservations and special functions.
Perform opening and closing duties, assist with side work including cleaning, stocking, and folding napkins.
Maintain open communication between guests, management, and service staff.
Attend required meetings.
Carry coffee and/or tea pots, refill guest cups, handle special guest requests, and ensure guest satisfaction.
