About The Position

The Restaurant Host position at Legends is responsible for operating the cash register, settling checks, and providing excellent customer service. This role involves greeting guests, accurately handling transactions, maintaining the cash register balance, and managing food and beverage inventory in coordination with the kitchen and beverage departments. The host also records tips, addresses customer concerns, monitors and maintains food presentation and freshness, and ensures all equipment and utensils are operated and maintained according to guidelines. Additionally, the role includes maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the prep area, ensuring a comfortable atmosphere by monitoring temperature and furniture, keeping reading materials current, monitoring bathroom cleanliness, and intervening in guest alcohol consumption as needed. The host acts as an ambassador of goodwill, promotes casino events, works closely with Casino Hosts to accommodate guest needs, provides personalized service, and resolves service problems. Adherence to regulatory, departmental, and company policies is required, serving as an outstanding example of the Downstream Casino Resort.

Requirements

Must be 21 years of age.
Read, write legibly, understand, and speak English.
Excellent customer service/communication skills
Must have food service knowledge to prepare and maintain food items within property guidelines, including health and safety.
Knows cocktail ingredients and proper mixing and pouring techniques.
Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Must meet professional appearance standards as prescribed by company policy.

Responsibilities

Operates cash register and properly settles checks.
Greets and rings all customer checks on cash register, takes money from customer and accurately gives change back to customer.
Accurately maintains balance of cash register and restaurant checks.
Inventories stock fills requisitions and communicates with the kitchen and beverage department to maintain proper levels of foods and beverages.
Records all tips collected from credit cards, comps, and room charges.
Handles and solves any concerns and questions from customers.
Monitors, prepares, displays, and maintains food items to insure presentation and freshness throughout the shift.
Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils as required in accordance with established guidelines and safety procedures.
Maintains, cleans, organizes, and stocks prep area in accordance with established property guidelines to include health and safety.
Maintains a comfortable atmosphere by monitoring temperature and maintaining furniture arrangement. Dusting/cleaning bookcases, shelving, windows, TV monitors and remotes, vacuuming floors and rugs, cleaning windows, etc.
Ensures all reading literature provided for guest is current to include newspapers, magazines, and casino collateral.
Monitors and maintains bathroom cleanliness and supplies.
Monitors guest consumption of alcohol and intervenes as needed according to guidelines.
Serves as ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appears in publicity photos.
Promotes casino events and programs.
Works closely with Casino Hosts to prepare for and accommodate the needs of the guest.
Works well with others.
Provides personalized service and uses guest names.
Resolve service problems according to guidelines.
Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and company policies in an ethical manner.
