This is a full-time, seasonal role running from September/October through late December/early January, depending on business needs. This role is not eligible for benefits. Requirements
- Previous hostess or front-of-house experience preferred; luxury or fine dining experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and poised in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable) preferred
- Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, and peak retail hours
Responsibilities
- Greet all guests warmly and professionally upon arrival, reflecting the Bergdorf Goodman brand and service standards
- Manage reservations, waitlists, and guest seating to ensure optimal dining flow
- Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and kitchen staff regarding table status and guest needs
- Maintain an organized and elegant host stand and entrance area
- Accommodate special guest requests whenever possible with discretion and professionalism
- Monitor dining room activity to ensure guest comfort and service efficiency
- Answer phone calls, manage inquiries, and provide accurate wait-time information
- Support opening and closing duties as assigned
