About The Position

JORY is the signature restaurant at The Allison Inn & Spa, a luxury resort in Oregon wine country. JORY focuses on creative fine dining menus that highlight the flavors of the Willamette Valley, with an emphasis on seasonal, garden-to-table agriculture. The Allison Inn & Spa is seeking a full-time AM JORY Restaurant Host to join their dedicated team, providing world-class service and creating meaningful memories for guests. The role involves working from 7 am to 3 pm, with an hourly wage of $16.80, and is eligible for tip pooling.

Requirements

1 year of experience in a restaurant or in customer service.
High school diploma or GED.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Experience with online reservation systems or hospitality software.
An enthusiastic, positive demeanor and desire to provide exceptional guest service.
Must be available to work Saturday and Sunday mornings and evenings, and holidays.
Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, holidays, and blackout days.
Adhere to The Allison Inn & Spa Food and Beverage grooming and appearance standards, or ability to adjust appearance accordingly.
Successfully pass a background investigation.
Possess an OLCC Service Permit.
Possess a Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Graciously, politely, and confidently welcome guests and answer phones.
Act as a liaison between resort departments, front desk, and restaurant managers.
Showcase The Allison Inn & Spa's dining options for guests.
Make accurate and complete reservations, and contact guests to confirm future reservations.
Direct guest inquiries, thoughtfully answer questions, and follow-up on guest requests that require research and further information.
Seat guests according to proper kitchen and dining room flow, understanding the strategic planning behind seating and table assignments.
Be knowledgeable about culinary and beverage menus, and demonstrate a willingness to deepen expertise.
Serve as the first and primary point of contact for In Room Dining orders.
Manage coat check service, ensuring the space is clean and orderly.
Answer basic and general guest inquiries about services and onsite experiences in other divisions, such as The Spa.
Conduct effective and hospitable service to guests on the telephone, and provide accurate and thorough phone messages to restaurant leadership.
Complete side work, organize and stock the host desk.
Serve as a liaison between restaurant managers and guests.
Maintain a neat, groomed, professional appearance as per The Allison guidelines, wearing a proper, clean, well-maintained uniform at all times.
Maintain sanitation and cleanliness per Jory and Oregon state health guidelines.
Follow service guidelines through the complete meal service.
Perform any additional duties assigned by management.
