About The Position

This role is responsible for seating guests in the dining room and handling customer service situations. The position aims to create an enjoyable dining experience while promoting a safe, clean, and neat environment. The host/hostess will exhibit exceptional communication skills, flexibility, and patience, with an interest in people. They will also maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information. Additionally, this role involves supervising food-service associates to ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation. Training new team members, supervising the closing of the dining room, and ensuring side work and station setup are completed are also key responsibilities. The host/hostess must demonstrate knowledge of emergency safety procedures and assist in evacuations if necessary. Occasional assistance with service, including bussing and food service, is expected, along with operating various equipment and collaborating with other departments for job duties and special events.

Demonstrates knowledge of emergency safety procedures and helps evacuate guests to safety in the event of fire or other emergency.
Assists with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
May be asked to operate equipment, including but not limited to fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
Works with staff of other departments to perform job duties and during special events or functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
