About The Position

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis seeks a Restaurant Host to join their talented team. This role is part of the Riva/Nordic Village restaurant, which offers distinct dining experiences reflecting the changing seasons in Minnesota. The basic purpose of the role is to greet and seat guests, coordinate reservations, and respond to inquiries efficiently, courteously, and professionally to ensure maximum customer satisfaction while adhering to Four Seasons policies.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience
Six to twelve months of restaurant, food and beverage, or equivalent experience
Ability to operate computer equipment and the reservations system
Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
Valid work authorization for the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of the restaurant aspect of Four Seasons services, policies or operations and general knowledge of the hotel (working knowledge generally learned on the job)

Responsibilities

Greet and seat guests promptly at a table pre-set for the number in the party and according to guest preference.
Set up the host/hostess stand, review the guest reservation book, and make recommendations for room setup.
Maintain a station chart and cover count for the restaurant, recognizing the maximum workload capacity of each server to meet Four Seasons Service standards.
Answer telephones according to Four Seasons standards, take guest reservations, or provide information about the restaurant or other hotel services.
Anticipate guest needs, respond accordingly to inquiries or problems, and recognize regular guests by name, using their name consistently.
Inspect and maintain daily menus for quality, condition, and appearance.
Develop a complete working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials.
Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct.
Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors.
