Requirements

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
  • Knowledge of food safety codes, equipment use, and food handling best practices
  • Ability to read and follow recipes in English and perform basic math for measurements and inventory
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to train, support, and lead team members
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, accuracy-driven environment
  • Positive attitude and problem-solving mindset

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily meals and specials; manage hot/cold food lines with speed and consistency
  • Support training and supervision of prep cooks and dishwashers
  • Follow recipes, ensure correct portion sizes, and meet food presentation standards
  • Follow all food safety regulations; inspect kitchen for cleanliness and organization
  • Communicate with shifts regarding orders, inventory, and special requests
  • Track and restock prep ingredients, rotate food, and minimize waste
  • Jump in where needed whether covering the line, managing closing checklists, or resolving service issues
