Restaurant Assistant General Manager
About The Position
Sterling Restaurants is seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager for a Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurant. The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to operate the restaurant, develop employees, deliver welcoming guest service, and achieve business results while building leadership skills. The role supports staffing, interviewing, training, and performance reviews; provides ongoing direction and feedback to Shift Leaders and Team Members; coordinates restaurant shifts; and helps maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment. It upholds quality, service, and cleanliness standards, handles guest concerns, manages sales, labor, food costs, and profitability, and supports catering, local marketing, and community relationships. The position offers a base salary starting at approximately $50,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience, an attainable monthly bonus, and the benefits listed in the posting. Career advancement opportunities are available; the posting notes that Operating Partners can make $100,000 or more.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant experience.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of 15–25.
- Strong communication, interviewing, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to hospitality, food safety, and leading alongside the team.
Responsibilities
- Support staffing, interviewing, training, and performance reviews.
- Give Shift Leaders and Team Members clear direction and ongoing feedback.
- Coordinate people and priorities during shifts and lead alongside the crew.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized restaurant.
- Uphold quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
- Resolve guest concerns with care and encourage guests to return.
- Manage sales, labor, food costs, and profitability.
- Support catering, local marketing, and community relationships.
- Lead with ownership, honesty, fairness, respect, positivity, and a focus on developing others.
