About The Position

Sterling Restaurants is seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager for a Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurant. The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to run the restaurant, develop team members, take ownership of results, and build their leadership skills. The role includes supporting staffing and training, leading shifts, maintaining a safe and clean restaurant, delivering welcoming guest service, managing financial results, and supporting catering, local marketing, and community relationships.

Sterling Restaurants was founded in 2009 and operates nearly 90 Moe’s restaurants across seven states. The company emphasizes developing people and operating great restaurants, guided by values of ownership, elevating others, doing the right thing, and maintaining a positive outlook.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant experience.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of 15–25.
• Strong communication, interviewing, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to hospitality, food safety, and leading alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing, interviewing, training, and performance reviews.
• Provide Shift Leaders and Team Members with clear direction and ongoing feedback.
• Coordinate people and priorities during shifts and lead alongside the restaurant crew.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized restaurant.
• Uphold quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Resolve guest concerns with care and encourage guests to return.
• Manage sales, labor, food costs, and profitability.
• Support catering, local marketing, and community relationships.
