About The Position

Sterling Restaurants is seeking a hands-on Assistant General Manager for a Moe’s Southwest Grill restaurant. The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to operate the restaurant, develop team members, and deliver welcoming guest experiences while building leadership skills. The role supports staffing, interviewing, training, and performance reviews; leads shifts; upholds quality, service, cleanliness, and food-safety standards; manages sales, labor, food costs, and profitability; and supports catering, local marketing, and community relationships. The successful candidate takes ownership, coaches and encourages others, acts with honesty and respect, and brings positive energy.

Sterling Restaurants was founded in 2009, owns the original Moe’s in Atlanta, and operates nearly 90 restaurants across seven states. The company describes people development and running great restaurants as central to its business.

Requirements

• Previous restaurant experience.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of 15–25.
• Strong communication, interviewing, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to hospitality, food safety, and leading alongside the team.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing, interviewing, training, and performance reviews.
• Give Shift Leaders and Team Members clear direction and ongoing feedback.
• Coordinate people and priorities to lead effective restaurant shifts alongside the crew.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized restaurant.
• Uphold quality, service, cleanliness, and food-safety standards.
• Resolve guest concerns with care and encourage guests to return.
• Manage sales, labor, food costs, and profitability.
• Support catering, local marketing, and community relationships.
