The Rest Area Attendant is responsible for performing all contract requirements within the state time frames and ensures that the rest areas meet or exceed the standards set forth by TDOT. This part-time position has a schedule of Saturday and Sunday from 8 PM to 8 AM. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and safety standards for the rest area facilities, including restrooms, foyer, reception area, parking lot, grounds, picnic areas, and brochure racks. The attendant must also accurately complete necessary paperwork, comply with company policies and relevant regulations (HIPAA, Title VI, Confidentiality), attend training sessions, and promote a positive work environment. Safety is paramount, requiring the use of specified safety equipment and immediate reporting of any unsafe practices, vandalism, theft, or accidents. Attendants are expected to be visible, especially during night shifts, to deter negative activities. Duties are generally limited to the building area and designated TDOT areas, but all attendants are responsible for taking measures to curb vandalism, theft, and accidents.
