About The Position

The Rest Area Attendant performs maintenance duties at the Rest Area. This role requires the ability to be trained and perform basic maintenance functions, including operating common maintenance equipment. The associate will be exposed to dirt, dust, and chemicals, and must learn to measure cleaning solutions and be alert to hazards. A 90-day training period is expected for full productivity. The position involves maintaining assigned areas according to established procedures, following safety rules, ensuring the security of the Rest Area, and safeguarding keys. Availability for emergency coverage and maintaining care of equipment and supplies are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements

• Ability to be trained and perform all basic maintenance functions and duties.
• Ability to operate common maintenance equipment such as: floor machines, brooms, mops, etc.
• Good dexterity is required.
• Must learn how to measure cleaning solutions and be alert to hazards.
• Must be able to read and write.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds through work shift.
• Frequent turning, stooping, bending and reaching is required.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Nice To Haves

• A high school diploma is desirable, but not necessary.
• In certain cases, may need to possess a current, valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.

• Maintain care of equipment and supplies at the Rest Area.
• Trim shrubs.
• Clean windows.
• Pick up litter.
• Shovel snow from sidewalks and scales.
• Clean walls.
• Sweep carpets.
• Mop floors.
• Replace light bulbs and clean lights.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
