The Rest Area Attendant is responsible for performing all contract requirements within the state time frames and ensures that the rest areas meet or exceed the standards set forth by TDOT. This role involves comprehensive maintenance of rest area facilities, including keeping restrooms, foyers, reception areas, and storage areas clean and sanitary. Outdoor duties include sweeping/hosing parking lots, sidewalks, and walkways, maintaining grounds by raking, mowing, and shrubbery care, collecting trash, and removing debris from the surrounding areas. The attendant is also responsible for completing required paperwork, adhering to company policies and quality standards, reporting necessary repairs and incidents, and ensuring safety and security measures are followed across all shifts.
