About The Position

The Avionics office in Marie-Curie, Montreal is Thales Group’s Centre of Competence for business and regional jet flight control systems is located at our Montreal – Marie Curie office. The team designs and integrates avionics suites, fly-by-wire flight control systems, SATCOM systems and other innovative concepts for the regional and business aircraft markets. The FCA Programs & Products Flight Controls and Autopilot (FCA) segment is responsible for the execution of design, development, series production, and support activities for its projects and programs in the fields of urban mobility, business, and commercial aviation. The solutions offered by FCA include electric flight control systems and autopilots. With around twenty competent and experienced Project Managers (PM) and Integrated Project Team Leaders, FCA aims for excellence in project execution and seeks to achieve a level of efficiency and competitiveness that will allow it to outperform its competitors. Customer satisfaction is at the heart of its mission, in order to achieve profitable growth.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of 7 years in an aeronautical solutions development environment, including at least 3 years in project management in a context of moderate criticality.
  • Academic background in engineering or business
  • Proficiency in English and French, written and spoken
  • Experience in negotiation and client relations
  • Autonomy, leadership, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural environment
  • Sense of planning, organization, and above all, anticipation
  • This position requires a good knowledge of English to interact, support and/or provide services to international clients, employees and/or partners as well as foreign government authorities who do not speak French
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations applicable to the civil domain, particularly FAA and TCCA rules, and development processes applicable in civil aviation (AS 9100)
  • Continuous improvement certification (Six Sigma, etc.)
  • PMP or IPMA Certification

Responsibilities

  • Pilots the design, development, production, and support activities related to its projects, in order to deliver quality services and products to clients, within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Drives the internal process and preparation of product and service proposals in response to client tenders, by coordinating strategic, programmatic, technical, and commercial elements.
  • Leads and coordinates internal teams (logistics managers, lot managers, etc.) and external teams (client, suppliers, subcontractors, partners) by involving various teams, particularly in business development, finance, etc.
  • Manages requirements, deadlines, and financial aspects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Is responsible for project quality and overall satisfaction of the client and stakeholders.
  • Manages legal and contractual obligations and handles disputes.
