About The Position

The Edinburg Center is seeking a Respite Counselor in our innovative, community-based, respite program to assist mental health clients in avoiding unnecessary hospitalization or transition successfully from the hospital to community living.

Requirements

  • BA and at least 1 year experience with adult mental health population required OR High school diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience will be considered.
  • First Aid, CPR, and MAP certification within three months of hire required.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model programs and knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation, advocacy, support and crisis prevention/intervention services to adults temporarily residing in a short term respite.
