Requirements

• Must be able to establish and maintain rapport with participants, families, co-workers, volunteers, and other agency service providers.
• Must be able to effectively communicate among a diverse community of individuals.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
• CPR, First Aid, and/or Safety-Care Behavioral Safety Training (this is preferred but not required)
• Experience working with individuals with special needs and/or disabilities a plus

Responsibilities

• Insure a safe environment offering appropriate developmental experiences for all participants during respite programs.
• Responsible for the safe, healthy environment of participants in your care, while playing games, leading age-appropriate activities, facilitating peer relationships, preparing snacks, and encouraging group interaction.
• Assist with setting up, implementing, and engaging with participants in activities that are appropriate for their age, skill, developmental level, and personal interests.
• Work with child, teen, and adult-aged participants across three different Respite programs (Parent's Day/ Night Out, Teen Night Out, and Friday Night Out).
• Help maintain a clean environment and assist with cleanup at the end of the respite event.
