About The Position

The Respiratory Therapy Student assists respiratory therapists with preparing for and providing patient care. This role involves delivering routine therapy as delegated by a therapist, assessing patient condition and delivering appropriate treatment, and monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition. The student will also educate the patient and family about the patient's illness and provide information about community support groups and other resources. Additionally, the role includes monitoring, receiving, stocking, and distributing respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders, and maintaining storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.

Requirements

State Board of Respiratory Care (Student)
Must be enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program and completed a minimum of 2 semesters of the program.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required one month from hire date
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Nice To Haves

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred
