About The Position

This position represents patient care directed toward Step Down areas and general care areas and will work under direct supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist.

Requirements

• HS/GED required.
• Applicants must be enrolled in a CoARC or CAAHEP accredited respiratory therapy program.
• Must obtain a student license issued by the Alabama State Board of Respiratory Therapy within 30 days of employment.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.

Nice To Haves

• Certification of BLS is preferred for hiring processes.
• Clinical experience obtained while attending Respiratory program is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Function in general care areas NOT including critical care areas and/or ventilator management.
• Perform and recommend procedures in all areas of bronchial hygiene, oxygen therapy, and basic respiratory diagnostic procedures.
