About The Position
The Respiratory Therapy Assistant (RTA) focuses students nearing graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program to have clinical training with Respiratory Therapist.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Enrolled and in good standing in a Respiratory program
- Ability to exercise independent judgment
- Maintains infection control procedures
Responsibilities
- Provide assessment, treatment, and monitoring of cardiopulmonary disorder across the continuum of care
- Treat patients using oxygen and oxygen mixtures, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Sets up and operates various types of respiratory equipment to be utilized in the routine treatment of respiratory diseases
- Communicate effective to care team concerning patient’s condition, results of diagnostic studies, and responses to treatment plans
- Adhere to policies, procedures, and standards of practice as defined by and/or stated by the National Board of Respiratory Care, DNV, UMC departmental standard policy and procedure manual.
- All other assigned duties related to Respiratory Therapy
