About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT) for its critical illness recovery hospital in Davenport, Iowa. The hospital provides inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Respiratory Therapists provide compassionate care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a full-time night-shift role on 12-hour shifts. The listed hourly rate is $30.47 to $41.00, plus shift differentials for nights and weekends, and the position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus. Requirements

Must hold an active CRT or RRT credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) or a state equivalent.
Proof of graduation is required: a college transcript or diploma is preferred, or a high school transcript or diploma or GED.
Must possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
Current state licensure is required.
ACLS is required within six months of hire. Agency respiratory therapists must have ACLS before their first shift, and PRN staff must have ACLS upon hire.

Nice To Haves

One year of related experience is preferred.
A college transcript or diploma is preferred as proof of graduation.

Responsibilities

Evaluate patients and recommend an appropriate treatment plan.
Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex medical and surgical conditions.
Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
Promote continuous quality improvement.
Teach and counsel patients and families.
