Respiratory Therapist - PT - Days - $15K Sign on Bonus - MMA
About The Position
Provides care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. The role as a respiratory therapist for Memorial System Manor is unique because you help individuals live their best lives from a healthcare perspective. We do not have multiple floors, an emergency room, perform ABGs, the only diagnostic we perform are EKGs occasionally. The duties are to care for ventilator dependent respiratory failure clients, routine nebulizer treatments, various non-manual chest physical therapies, and bedtime CPAPs and BIPAPs. You will have the ability to impact people where it counts the most, their homes and for some we are their steppingstone prior to going home.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Familiar with electronic health records
- Can work independently or as a team
- Detail oriented
- Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Nice To Haves
- Post acute care experience preferred but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
- Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
- Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
- Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
- Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
