Requirements
- Valid Ohio license or permit for practicing Respiratory care
- Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid
Nice To Haves
- Chronic care and experience with ventilators preferred
- Experience with the Developmental Disabilities population and experience with individuals with highly complex continuous needs is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing respiratory care under the orders of the Medical Director.
- Completion of all documentation, communication, maintenance of respiratory equipment, and continuing training of staff related to respiratory needs of residents, including those receiving ventilator support.
- Provide high quality respiratory therapy services for Heinzerling Community residents utilizing state-of-the-art patient monitoring equipment.
- Manage acute and chronic respiratory care for residents in collaboration with the Medical Director and Nursing team.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of respiratory-related policies and procedures.
- Provide training for staff who are working with residents needing respiratory assistance.
- Assesses knowledge and skills of staff who provide direct respiratory services.
- Develop respiratory-related education for staff and families and train them annually and as needed to ensure competency.
- Evaluate, track, and maintain respiratory-related equipment.
