Requirements

  • Valid Ohio license or permit for practicing Respiratory care
  • Must maintain current certification in CPR and First Aid

Nice To Haves

  • Chronic care and experience with ventilators preferred
  • Experience with the Developmental Disabilities population and experience with individuals with highly complex continuous needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing respiratory care under the orders of the Medical Director.
  • Completion of all documentation, communication, maintenance of respiratory equipment, and continuing training of staff related to respiratory needs of residents, including those receiving ventilator support.
  • Provide high quality respiratory therapy services for Heinzerling Community residents utilizing state-of-the-art patient monitoring equipment.
  • Manage acute and chronic respiratory care for residents in collaboration with the Medical Director and Nursing team.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of respiratory-related policies and procedures.
  • Provide training for staff who are working with residents needing respiratory assistance.
  • Assesses knowledge and skills of staff who provide direct respiratory services.
  • Develop respiratory-related education for staff and families and train them annually and as needed to ensure competency.
  • Evaluate, track, and maintain respiratory-related equipment.
