About The Position

Deaconess Illinois is hiring a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide respiratory care to patients of all ages. The therapist will work alongside physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, providing care ranging from emergency interventions to ongoing treatment. This is a part-time position with an hourly compensation range of $26.00–$42.00.

Requirements

• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current state respiratory care license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• At least two years of respiratory therapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.
• Administer respiratory therapies, including oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and airway management interventions.
• Operate and manage respiratory equipment, including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP devices.
• Perform diagnostic testing and interpret patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and critical care situations.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and home care techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with regulatory and clinical standards.
• Stay current on emerging respiratory care practices and advancements in patient treatment.
