About The Position

Pediatric Specialty Care at Hopewell in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, is hiring a pediatric Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) to care for medically complex children, many of whom depend on tracheostomies and long-term or home ventilators. The role involves hands-on respiratory care, including ventilator management, airway clearance, trach changes, weaning, and decannulation, as part of a care team that relies on the therapist’s respiratory expertise. The position is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., three shifts per week, including every third weekend. The employer offers paid pediatric orientation with experienced respiratory therapists and will train therapists with adult ventilator experience in pediatric care. Compensation is $33.00–$50.20 per hour, with a premium night differential and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

RRT or CRT credential from the NBRC.
Active Pennsylvania respiratory therapist license.
Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy.
Current AHA BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
Pediatric or ventilator experience preferred but not required; adult ventilator skills are transferable, and pediatric training is provided.

Responsibilities

Manage ventilators, tracheostomies, and airways for medically complex children.
Assess patients, provide treatment, and respond quickly to respiratory changes and emergencies.
Perform airway clearance, suctioning, and trach changes.
Work with the care team to advance ventilator-weaning and decannulation goals.
Teach families and staff, including preparing families for discharge home.
Document accurately and follow AARC and regulatory standards.
