About The Position
Provide personalized respiratory care to patients in their homes in Harahan, Louisiana. The role focuses on improving patients’ health, comfort, confidence, safety, and independence through ventilator management, oxygen therapy guidance, respiratory education, and ongoing support for patients and families. The schedule is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with participation in a rotating on-call schedule and home visits as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Active licensure in the primary state of residence as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT or CRT), or another acceptable medical credential based on state licensure laws.
- Willingness to obtain licensure in neighboring states if required by the service area.
- Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, compliance onboarding, and credentialing requirements.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record when applicable to the position.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited program in respiratory care, nursing, or a related paramedical field.
- Experience in home respiratory care or home healthcare.
- Degree in respiratory therapy or a related science.
- At least one year of relevant clinical experience.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
Responsibilities
- Conduct compassionate in-home respiratory assessments.
- Educate patients and caregivers about ventilators, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory equipment.
- Adjust ventilator settings and clinical plans according to patient needs and physician orders.
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
- Document clinical services and interactions accurately and promptly.
- Provide phone support and follow-up care to patients and families.
- Participate in rotating on-call duties and complete home visits as needed.
- Support training and orientation of new clinical staff.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and reliable respiratory support.
