About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, Buckeye Care & Rehabilitation is hiring a full-time Respiratory Therapist to help grow our respiratory therapy program in a post-acute setting. This role will initially focus on non-invasive ventilation (NIV), including BiPAP and CPAP therapy, while working collaboratively with nursing leadership to expand respiratory services, support admissions, and provide high-quality respiratory care to our residents.

Requirements

Current Ohio Respiratory Care Professional License.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
Experience with or willingness to learn non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP).
Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
Reliable, team-oriented, and patient-centered.

Nice To Haves

Skilled nursing, long-term care, or acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, initiate, monitor, and manage BiPAP/CPAP (NIV) therapy.
Perform respiratory assessments and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as ordered.
Assist residents with incentive spirometer use and pulmonary hygiene.
Educate residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment and therapies.
Document assessments, treatments, and therapy compliance in the electronic medical record.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, admissions, and clinical leadership.
Support respiratory evaluations for prospective admissions and identify residents who may benefit from respiratory services.
Assist with the continued development and growth of the facility's respiratory therapy program.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respiratory education for staff.
Provide additional respiratory therapy coverage, including occasional supplemental or on-call support, as needed to maintain respiratory services.
