About The Position

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II (RCP II) / Respiratory Therapist (RRT) delivers respiratory therapy treatments and pulmonary diagnostic services in an acute care setting, including assessment, treatment planning, and implementation of care across all patient populations. Work in a high-acuity, critical care environment and advanced respiratory cases. This is a full-time, non-exempt position located in the Chicago Metro Area, Illinois, offering a big-city lifestyle, strong healthcare market, and no car required. Requirements

State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License required
Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required
ACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain current.
PALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain current.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required

Nice To Haves

2 years experience as an RCP preferred.
NRP certificate preferred
Associate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred

Responsibilities

Administer respiratory therapy treatments (oxygen, aerosol, airway management)
Manage ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow oxygen systems
Perform pulmonary diagnostics (ABGs, PFTs)
Implement patient-specific respiratory care plans
Document care in the EMR
Respond to code blue and rapid response events
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient outcomes
May serve as Lead RCP during assigned shifts
