About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist will support patients participating in outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation at Suburban Hospital. The role emphasizes patient safety, encouragement, clinical support, and collaboration with another Respiratory Therapist who handles documentation in the clinical system. The position is scheduled for night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, including rotating weekends, at a pay rate of $60.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Maryland State Board of Physicians.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assess patients during pulmonary rehabilitation sessions.
• Monitor patients and obtain vital signs as appropriate.
• Assist patients throughout therapy activities to ensure safety and tolerance.
• Provide patient education related to pulmonary disease management and rehabilitation goals.
• Respond appropriately to patient needs or changes in condition.
• Collaborate with the pulmonary rehabilitation team, including another Respiratory Therapist responsible for documentation.
• Follow infection control, safety, and departmental policies.
• Maintain a professional, supportive, and respectful environment for all patients.
