Requirements

Current BLS certification through American Heart Association
ACLS current certification
PALS current certification or within 90 days of hire
NRP current or within 90 days of hire
Respiratory Therapist - Certified Respiratory Care Therapist OR Registered Respiratory Therapist
May be either a Certified Technician or a Registered Therapist

Nice To Haves

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred
Minimum 2+ years Critical Care experience preferred
Minimum 2+ years experience in a Respiratory Department preferred

Responsibilities

Safely and effectively administer all phases of respiratory care per departmental procedures.
Perform accurate patient assessment for respiratory care, review patient information and recommend appropriate therapy to the ordering physician.
Administer respiratory medications via SVN, MDI & DPI, perform cardiopulmonary testing (EKG, PFT), set up, maintain, and manage non-invasive positive pressure devices and ventilators.
Record accurate therapy and medication administration in the medical record timely.
Educate patients on respiratory care procedures.
Record therapy and medication administration electronically.
