About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care services to patients across a variety of clinical settings. The ideal candidate will assess, treat, monitor, and manage patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions while collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapy License.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification.
  • Minimum one (1) year of critical care respiratory therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ventilator management and cardiopulmonary care.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify acute and chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
  • Initiate, manage, and monitor ventilatory support, including ventilator setup, troubleshooting, lung-protective strategies, and patient weaning.
  • Follow therapist-driven protocols, departmental procedures, and evidence-based respiratory care practices.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood gas (ABG) collection and sputum specimen collection.
  • Interpret ABG results and assess respiratory status.
  • Perform bedside spirometry and capnography testing.
  • Monitor patients’ respiratory conditions during intra-facility and inter-facility transport.
  • Respond to emergency situations including Code Blue and Rapid Response Team activations.
  • Assist with conscious sedation procedures and endotracheal intubations.
  • Administer therapeutic gases and treatments, including oxygen therapy, Heliox, and high-flow oxygen therapy.
  • Assist physicians during bronchoscopies performed in procedural and critical care settings.
  • Utilize respiratory monitoring equipment and patient care technology effectively.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.
