The role involves providing Respiratory Care, ensuring a safe patient environment, promoting evidence-based practice and quality initiatives, and exhibiting professionalism in patient and family care. Responsibilities extend beyond routine care to initiating and administering therapeutic procedures, diagnostic tests, and education according to departmental policies. The therapist will record patient assessments, maintain departmental records, precept new employees, and participate in student clinical rotations. A key aspect of the role is demonstrating proficiency in maintaining respiratory therapy equipment and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to communicate clinical information and discuss patient care plans.
