Your Everyday Demonstrate proficiency in critical and general care procedures including patient assessment, ventilator management, arterial punctures, code III response, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation, monitoring equipment, airway management, endo/nasotracheal suctioning, and arterial line placement, aerosol therapy, IPPB, CPT, oxygen therapy, incentive spirometry, aerochamber/inhaler, and peak flow meters. Organize and set priorities while assuring safe operation of all equipment needed for patient care and procedures within the established guidelines and timeframes. Manage equipment/supply needs appropriately. Demonstrate quality improvement commitment through accurate monitoring, documentation, and incidents. Participate in planning and problem solving. Adhere to BSI policies at all times. Perform treatments using aseptic technique when required. Follow, instruct and enforce others on infection control policies and procedures. Maintain a safe environment for everyone recognizing and taking action to correct unsafe conditions utilizing proper channels of communication. Communicate information regarding treatments ensuring patient’s or family members understanding, comprehension and active participation.

Requirements

Licensed Respiratory Therapist - Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
Current American Heart Association (BLS, CPR) certifications.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
