The Respiratory Therapist will perform, teach, and guide all forms of respiratory therapy, chest physical therapy, and cardiopulmonary diagnostics. This role involves assessing and treating patients of all age groups, from neonatal to geriatric, implementing care based on developmental stages, and involving families/guardians in the plan of care. The therapist will administer various respiratory therapies, understand equipment, provide intensive respiratory care, perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis, conduct pulmonary function testing, and educate patients and families on home care. Additionally, the role includes participating in continuing education, performing patient assessments, maintaining patient records, guiding Respiratory Therapy Techs, maintaining equipment, and potentially performing selected duties of the Director in their absence. Adherence to all hospital standards, policies, and procedures is required.
