About The Position

Ascension St. John Medical Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join their Respiratory Therapy department. This role involves leading patient assessments to design personalized care plans, managing advanced respiratory treatments and life-support equipment, educating patients and families, and supporting life-saving efforts as a key member of the emergency resuscitation team.

Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision required. Respiratory Care Practitioner provisional letter will be accepted until license is issued.
• Certified Respiratory Therapist required.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

• Lead patient assessments to design personalized care plans that target specific respiratory needs and improve recovery outcomes.
• Manage advanced respiratory treatments and life-support equipment to ensure stability and safety for patients with complex breathing challenges.
• Empower patients and their families through clear education, ensuring they feel confident and supported in managing their health journey.
• Support life-saving efforts as a key member of the emergency resuscitation team, providing rapid, expert intervention during critical, high-stakes moments.
