About The Position

Delivers critical and non-critical patient care services to patients of all age groups using selected invasive and non-invasive techniques related to the cardiopulmonary system. Provides respiratory care in inpatient and outpatient areas, demonstrates commitment and professionalism, and practices within the scope of practice in accordance with the licensure act.

Requirements

• Actively enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program or awaiting the CRT credentialing exam.
• No years of experience required; entry-level skills and knowledge.
• Current limited license to practice respiratory care issued by the state.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs and monitors patient progress and response to respiratory care services.
• Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes regarding therapeutic interventions.
• Performs invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Performs routine treatments.
• Correctly records information in the patient legal record and maintains department records.
• Educates patients about their disease state, wellness, home care modalities, and safety.
• Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians regarding cardiopulmonary status.
• Provides treatments according to age-specific needs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
