About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist plans and provides comprehensive patient care, manages available nursing resources, and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to provide quality, cost-effective patient care. The Respiratory Care Assistant provides clinical support to Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) in delivering safe and effective respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions. Works under direct and indirect supervision of an RRT to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality patient care while gaining supervised clinical experience aligned with an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care required
  • Respiratory Therapist (RRT), or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with one year to complete Registry exam
  • BLS upon hire
  • NRP certification within 3 months of hire
  • ACLS and PALS within 1 year of hire
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) by the state of Wisconsin
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and have completed their first year of coursework and are expected to complete all program requirements—courses and clinical rotations—within the next six (6) months
  • Must be in good standing, meaning you meet all academic and clinical requirements and are not on academic or disciplinary probation
  • BLS certification is required within 3 months of hire
