About The Position

Shriners Children’s Chicago is seeking a dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team on a full-time, night shift schedule. The ideal candidate will bring experience in pediatric critical care respiratory therapy and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This full-time night shift position works 72 hours bi-weekly and the hours are 7pm to 7am. The Respiratory Therapist gets the opportunity to participate in daily planning via patient rounds. You'll work as part of the interdisciplinary team for the plan of care for our patients. You'll be able to increase your knowledge in orthopaedic care to improve outcomes for our amazing patients and families. Our Respiratory Therapists have the opportunity for academic growth through participation in research projects. Provides primary respiratory care to patients from admission through their discharge under a physician's order. Communicates verbal and/or written patient and departmental information/special needs to pertinent persons in a timely and appropriate manner (i.e. rounds). Documents accurate, specific, complete patient care data according to policy and procedure guidelines. Assures safe, cost effective operation and function of pertinent equipment and utilizes appropriate infection control techniques in all areas.

Requirements

  • Associate Respiratory Therapy
  • 5 Years RT experience in ICU setting
  • RRT License in state of Illinois
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Year Pediatric experience

  • The pay range for this position is $33.47 - $50.22. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
