About The Position
Under medical supervision, delivers respiratory care services to patients throughout the hospital, including intensive care units, medical and surgical floors, the emergency department, post-anesthesia care units, and infant nurseries. Respiratory Therapists must maintain standards of performance for their assigned area and may be required to supervise the work of other therapists and/or students.
Requirements
- Meet one of the following: hold current Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or Osteopathic Respiratory Care Practitioner; hold a current Pennsylvania Temporary Practice Permit as a Respiratory Therapist and obtain Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or Osteopathic Respiratory Care Practitioner within 6 months of hire; or successfully complete NBRC certification and obtain Pennsylvania licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner or Osteopathic Respiratory Care Practitioner within 6 months of hire.
- Hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital.
- Maintain standards of performance for the assigned area.
- May supervise the work of other therapists and/or students.
