About The Position

Cadia Healthcare Pike Creek is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist for a 7 p.m.–7 a.m. schedule, as well as PRN Respiratory Therapists. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered for licensed Respiratory Therapists working the 7 p.m.–7 a.m. schedule. For PRN work, the hourly rate increases as more hours are worked. The Respiratory Therapist assists, treats, and cares for residents with breathing disorders, and assumes primary responsibility for respiratory modalities in accordance with facility policies and applicable federal, state, and local standards and regulations. The role involves providing respiratory treatments, assessing residents who require mechanical ventilator support, and operating and maintaining diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory equipment.

Requirements

Graduate of a CoARC-approved school of respiratory therapy.
Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
Working knowledge of respiratory equipment, including the ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
Knowledge of mechanical ventilators, tracheostomy care, and oxygen-delivery devices.

Nice To Haves

CRT or RRT licensure/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide respiratory treatments to residents who need breathing therapy, exercise, or therapeutic medication.
Determine treatment requirements—including type, method, duration, precautions, and medication dosages—in accordance with physician orders.
Ensure respiratory services comply with physician orders and facility policies.
Assess and provide care to residents requiring mechanical ventilator support.
Make regular rounds on ventilator residents, monitor their conditions, and conduct routine mechanical safety checks of ventilators.
Evaluate, operate, and maintain respiratory diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including ABG equipment, oximeters, and portable spirometers.
