About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist works at the Leonard Florence Center for Living, an award-winning skilled nursing residence with a Green House Ventilator Program. The facility combines advanced technology with a home-like environment and provides person-centered care intended to support residents’ independence.

The role provides prescribed respiratory treatments and services, including oxygen therapy, therapeutic and medicinal gases, and aerosolized medications. The therapist assesses and monitors residents, documents care, maintains respiratory equipment, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support respiratory health and quality of life.

Requirements

• Current, valid Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license.
• Strong clinical assessment and patient evaluation skills.
• Current CPR certifications, including BLS and ACLS.
• Maintain required educational competencies in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• If selected for hire, provide a recent physical and required immunizations, including fully vaccinated status for Covid-19.
• Submit to extensive background checks and professional references.

Responsibilities

• Provide prescribed respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, therapeutic and medicinal gases, aerosolized medications, and other respiratory care services.
• Deliver compassionate, resident-centered care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Monitor, assess, and document residents’ conditions, and report changes and adverse reactions to nursing staff and physicians.
• Review physician orders and administer prescribed respiratory therapies.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Inspect, test, and maintain respiratory equipment to ensure safe, effective operation and compliance with facility policies.
