About The Position

AMG Specialty Hospital - Lafayette is seeking a Full-Time Respiratory Therapist for Night Shifts. We are a Long-Term Acute Care hospital specializing in the management of complex medical needs, aiming to return patients to their optimal level of well-being. Patients commonly treated include those with Respiratory Failure requiring ventilation, vapotherm, high flow, bipap, cpap, and nasal cannula. These patients may also require sedation/pain management, pressor management, and cardiac/anti-arrhythmic management. We also treat complicated infections requiring long-term IV antibiotics and chronic non-healing wounds requiring extensive treatment with wound vacs and frequent dressing changes. RNs will be responsible for direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting, communicating with physicians and co-workers about patient conditions, and responding quickly to changes in condition. General nursing duties may also be performed with adequate supervision. Shift Differentials are paid for all Night and Weekend Shifts!

Requirements

Completion of an approved respiratory care program
Active Louisiana Respiratory Therapist License.
Current BLS certification.
Current ACLS certification
Minimum of one to three years of related work experience.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

Direct and indirect patient care in the long-term acute care setting.
Communicate with physicians, CCO/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision.
