About The Position
At Boone Memorial Hospital, our Respiratory Therapists play a critical role in patient care—supporting everything from emergency response to long-term pulmonary treatment. As a Respiratory Therapist, you’ll provide essential cardiopulmonary care in an inpatient hospital setting while working closely with physicians and the healthcare team.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy (CoARC accredited)
- RRT or CRT credential (required)
- Active West Virginia Respiratory Care License
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
- Minimum of 6 months direct patient care experience (preferred)
- Cardiopulmonary experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform cardiopulmonary evaluations and deliver respiratory therapy treatments
- Set up, operate, and maintain oxygen therapy and inhalation equipment
- Administer therapies including aerosol treatments, chest physiotherapy, and incentive spirometry
- Manage BiPAP/CPAP therapy and airway care
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and pulmonary function testing
- Conduct EKGs and six-minute walk tests
- Assist with pulmonary rehabilitation programs
- Respond to emergencies, including performing CPR
- Maintain accurate patient documentation in electronic health records
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
- Provide education to patients, families, and staff
- Participate in quality assurance and follow all safety and infection control protocols
