About The Position

This is a permanent role for a Respiratory Therapist in Gainesville, FL. The position involves knowledge of patient responses, side effects, and dosages of respiratory care medications. The therapist will communicate effectively with physicians, patients, managers, and the public, and will be able to teach and assess others. Responsibilities include recognizing and reporting patient abuse and neglect, and applying generally accepted practices in respiratory care as prescribed by the physician. The role requires delivering, setting up, and maintaining routine and non-routine therapies and equipment such as oxygen, aerosol therapy, and ventilators. The ability to perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases is also essential.

Requirements

1yr min of RRT exp required (ICU, CVICU, NICU, PICU, Critical care unit)
FL State Respiratory License
NBRC – RRT/CRT
Basic Cardiac Life Support(BLS)
ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
NRP - Neonate Resuscitate must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
PALS - Pediatric Advs. Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Nice To Haves

Would consider those with home care and/or long term care experience
Would Also consider CRT experience

Responsibilities

Able to communicate effectively with Physicians, patients, managers and the publics.
Ability to teach/instruct, assess and reassess others.
Able to recognize and report abuse and neglect in patients.
Knowledge of generally accepted practices in respiratory care as prescribed by the physician.
Delivers, set-up, and maintains routine and non-routine therapies and equipment (i.e., oxygen, aerosol therapy, ventilators) utilized by Respiratory Therapy.
Ability to perform and interpret Arterial Blood Gases.
