The Respiratory Care Graduate position transitions a new graduate into a Respiratory Care Practitioner role after graduation. The graduate applies skills and knowledge gained through education and clinical experience while working directly with a preceptor to become competent with the equipment, modalities, and clinical patient assessments needed to care for hospital patients. Under the supervision of a licensed RCP, the graduate provides direct patient care in accordance with hospital objectives, policies, procedures, and Froedtert’s core values. The Respiratory Therapist program supports new graduates and experienced professionals through a structured 12-month RT Residency Program, a defined Clinical Career Ladder, and flexible self-scheduling. The residency provides hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, ongoing education, critical care training, and advanced procedures to help new therapists transition into professional practice. Respiratory therapists may progress from RCP I through RCP IV, with opportunities for greater responsibility, recognition, and compensation as they gain experience, earn advanced credentials, or pursue higher education. The program emphasizes mentorship, collaboration, professional growth, and work-life balance. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, with day shifts from 06:00 to 18:30 or night shifts from 18:00 to 06:30 available. Holidays are assigned, and the position works every third weekend. The FTE is 0.9. A bonus of up to $3,000 is listed.
